Jewish Family Service of the Lehigh Valley's volunteers assist people in many ways. They drive people without transportation to medical appointments and food shopping. Make friendly phone calls to people who are homebound
Drive people without transportation to appointments, visits and shopping
Bring holiday food baskets to homebound people
Assist with mailings
Help keep the Kosher Food Pantry in order
Offer specialized computer and office expertise to staff
Help seniors with spring cleaning
Lend your talents and knowledge in any number of other ways

If you love to meet people, JFS-LV has rewarding volunteer opportunities for you as a friendly visitor. Among the people who would like to be visited are:

A pleasant woman living at a senior care community would love having a friendly visitor to chat with.
A woman caring for her mother at home would enjoy having a partner to play cards.

All of the people described above live in assisted living communities.

Driver Volunteers Needed

JFS-LV has ongoing volunteer opportunities for drivers to take people without transportation to medical aqppointments and shopping. We could say, "Be a driving force! "

Make a real difference in someone's life by driving them to much-needed medical appointments and shopping. This is a rewarding activity for both driver and person driven. Volunteers Fluent in Spanish Needed to Help People Find Benefits

Do you enjoy helping people? Are you fluent in Spanish? We are looking for volunteers who are fluent in Spanish for our Benefits Access Program. As a participant in this program, you will be helping people discover federal, state and local benefits that help with the costs of housing, food, prescription drugs and other necessities. Many of these important benefits go unclaimed because people do not know about them or assume they are not eligible for them. For more information, please call Robin Rosenau at 610-821-8722

Computer-savvy Volunteers Needed

JFS-LV is seeking adult volunteers to help seniors learn to use their computers in their homes. If you would like to assist, call Cooky Notis, 610-821-8722.

Spanish Speaking Volunteers Needed

Cooky Notis is looking for volunteers who speak Spanish and a volunteer to visit a resident of Good Shepherd and teach her about Judaism. The Spanish-speaking volunteers would visit two women in elder care facilities.

Share the Joy of Music

Do you have audiotapes of classical and/or easy-listening music you no longer listen to? There are seniors at assisted living communities and nursing homes who would enjoy them. To donate tapes, please call Cooky Notis, 610-821-8722.
